A Wearable Rose Garden

Create a floral nuno felt stole designed to be worn, not just admired on the table. You will learn how to think about placement, movement, drape, and where the most beautiful details should fall on the body.

Felting in Volume

Learn Alisa’s special approach to felting texture-rich surfaces: no rolling, no flattening. The surface is secured with an electric sander and then shaped through tossing, kneading, lifting, shaking, and stretching — so the felt stays soft, flowing, and alive.

Rich Floral Texture

Work with silk roses, wool curls, lace, guipure, fibers, and fine merino wool to build a surface full of depth, softness, and movement — rich, but not chaotic.

About the course

Rose Garden Stole is a step-by-step nuno felt course with Alisa Bordo, dedicated to creating a richly textured floral stole with silk, fine wool, wool curls, lace, guipure, fibers, and soft sculptural volume. In this course, you will create a beautiful wearable piece — but you will also learn much more than one project. Alisa shows how to build a floral surface thoughtfully: how to plan the composition, place the most expressive elements where they will be visible on the body, combine materials, preserve texture, and felt the piece without flattening its volume. One of the most valuable parts of the course is Alisa’s approach to felting in volume. Instead of rolling the stole and pressing the surface flat, she uses a careful sequence of electric sander work, tossing, kneading, lifting, shaking, stretching, and shaping. This helps create felt that is thin, stable, flowing, and alive. The finished stole can be romantic, elegant, festive, dramatic, or wild — depending on your colors and materials. Your Rose Garden does not need to look exactly like Alisa’s. The course gives you the structure, technique, and confidence to create your own version. This course is suitable for confident beginners and experienced feltmakers who love nuno felt, floral surfaces, rich texture, and wearable felt art.

What students are saying

Alisa’s floral nuno felt courses have inspired many feltmakers to create their own richly textured shawls and stoles. Students often speak not only about the beauty of the results, but also about Alisa’s special way of teaching: her sense of composition, her love of texture, and her ability to bring lace, silk, wool curls, fibers, and personal memories together into one living textile. These testimonials were translated from Russian.

“Alisa taught me how to combine things that seemed impossible to combine — and turn them into dream shawls full of memory: a piece of lace from a wedding dress, guipure found at a flea market in Venice, small fragments with their own stories. Her techniques helped me bring all these materials together into one living textile.”
Marina L.

Mannheim, Germany

“Oh my God, what beauty! I couldn’t stop watching. I have already made five shawls — and I am still just as inspired.”
Natalia T.

Kyiv, Ukraine

“Alisa herself is charming, mysterious, and full of vital feminine strength. Her work carries the same energy — and so does the way she teaches. There is beauty, depth, and a quiet power in both her pieces and her storytelling.”, a handbook that makes photography feel simple! It covers everything from camera settings to post-processing in a way that actually makes sense.
