Paint with Wool
Learn how to use coloured wool almost like paint — creating soft gradients, abstract surfaces, ikat-inspired effects and expressive compositions directly in the layout.
Silk, Viscose & Surface Magic
Explore how sari silk, silk hankies, tussah, mulberry silk and viscose change the surface of felt — adding shine, texture, rhythm and depth.
6 Vests, 100 Design Ideas
See how one simple garment form can become a whole world of design possibilities — from delicate watercolour effects to bold graphic statements.
About the course
You already know how to make felt. But how do you make it look intentional, personal, and truly designed? In Design in Felt: 6 Vests, 100 Design Ideas, Julia Struzh shows how a simple felt vest can become a whole field of creative possibilities. This is not a course about copying one model. It is a course about learning to see, choose, combine and design. You will explore how coloured wool can be used almost like paint — for soft gradients, abstract surfaces, watercolour effects and ikat-inspired designs. Julia also works with sari silk, silk hankies, tussah, mulberry silk and viscose, showing how each material changes the light, texture and mood of the finished felt. The course is especially helpful if you often feel unsure at the design stage: Which colours should I combine? Where should I place the silk? How much texture is enough? How can I make a vest look harmonious instead of accidental? Through six different vests and many material examples, Julia helps you understand the logic behind beautiful felt design — so you can make stronger choices in your own work. You will not just collect ideas. You will learn how to create your own. Join the course and discover how wool, silk and colour can become a real design language in felt.
Meet Julia Struzh
Julia Struzh is a felt artist and teacher known for her clear, thoughtful approach to wearable felt. Her work combines structure and freedom: precise technical decisions, clean layouts, carefully chosen materials — and a strong sense of colour, texture and movement. Julia does not treat design as decoration added at the end. For her, design begins from the first idea: the choice of wool, the direction of the fibres, the rhythm of colour, the shine of silk, and the final character of the garment. In this course, Julia opens her creative process and shows how one simple form — a vest — can become a rich field of design possibilities. With her guidance, you will learn to look at wool, silk and viscose not only as materials, but as tools for creating your own visual language in felt.
